Our hammered gold finish emulates the look of natural river gold nuggets, from which these rings are made. The hammering is soft and nuanced and the finish is matte, not shiny. This is achieved by our meticulous by-hand process, where no two rings are ever exactly the same.

  • Our hammered gold finish is achieved a series of meticulous by-hand steps that include an average of 1,000 hammer strikes. Unlike other hammered finishes where you can see abrupt individual strikes, our finish is soft, nuanced and natural-looking—like the look of raw river gold nuggets, worn by eons of flowing water and tumbling rocks.

  • California Gold refers to gold mined in California. Rare and special, we source this gold from our claim on the Yuba River and a fully-permitted small-scale mining operation in the Sierra Nevada foothills.   • Yes—while lower karats like 18K and 14K are technically harder, our 20K California Gold strikes a balance of purity and durability. We chose 20K to honor the natural state of California river gold which comes from the earth at roughly this karat, and for its distinctive greenish gold hue. With normal care, your ring will last a lifetime. As with all gold jewelry, it’s best to remove your wedding band for activities like weightlifting, gardening, or working with heavy tools to prevent unnecessary wear.

  • Yes—we are happy to craft your ring in the metal of your choice. Choose from 14K, 18K, 22K or 24K and yellow gold, white gold, rose gold or platinum. Please inquire for more information.

  • Each hammered gold wedding band is made to order in our studio. Production typically takes 3–4 weeks, plus another day or two for shipping. If you have a specific deadline, let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
