About Todd Bracken
Master Jeweler | Goldsmith & Artisanal Miner | GIA Graduate Gemologist
Growing up in a family jewelry business, Todd Bracken was immersed in the world of fine craftsmanship from an early age. His parents, Lester and Darlene Bracken, opened the first Bracken Jewelers in Illinois in the 1950s, and by the late 1960s, Todd was already working on customers’ jewelry and watches. Drawn to the artistry and science of the trade, he relocated to California and pursued his Graduate Gemologist certification from the Gemological Institute of America—a move we like to think mirrors the 49ers, drawn by gold, beauty, and opportunity.
Inspired by California’s rich history and natural landscapes, Todd began artisanal mining, leading to the creation of the California Gold Collection, crafted from his own findings. His dedication to ethical mining and craftsmanship was recognized by the California State Assembly, which officially declared the state’s 150th anniversary as Todd Bracken Day in honor of his contributions.
Todd’s work spans from designing exquisite engagement rings and custom pieces for thousands of clients to creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces for Tiffany & Co.’s esteemed Blue Books. His handcrafted jewelry has been worn by Michelle Obama, Elizabeth Taylor, and Harrison Ford, among others. His expertise in rare vintage watches, fine jewelry, and historical objects has resulted in museum-worthy collections, some of which we showcase in our Design Archives.
Rooted in tradition yet ever-evolving, Todd draws inspiration from nature, ancient motifs, and the inherent beauty of rare stones and precious metals. Whether designing a bespoke engagement ring or an heirloom-worthy statement piece, his creations are a seamless fusion of history, artistry, and personal storytelling.
