Welcome to Bracken Jewelers. We’re a three-generation fine jewelry studio in Santa Monica, California. From our collection made with California river gold to one-of-a-kind masterpieces crafted for Tiffany & Co., our work reflects a lifelong commitment to craftsmanship, integrity, and storytelling.

Our Design Ethos

Our jewelry is designed to be timeless and personal. We draw inspiration from ancient jewelry and old-world style, and we interpret those influences through modern, refined craft.

We consider balance, proportion, and texture when designing our jewelry to ensure it is as beautiful, wearable and lasting as possible. Whether it is a custom engagement ring or an heirloom-inspired pendant, every Bracken creation is made to honor the person who will wear it and the materials from which it’s formed—connecting legacy, place, and artistry in every detail.

Todd Bracken

Master Jeweler, GIA Graduate Gemologist, Goldsmith

Todd Bracken began working with jewelry and watches at nine years old in his parents’ jewelry store in Decatur, Illinois. Drawn West by the California dream, he graduated from the Gemological Institute of America in the late 1970s and opened his first Santa Monica store in 1984.

Todd’s designs are inspired by the raw beauty of the materials he works with—California gold he mines himself, antique diamonds, and gemstones that carry rare character. Influenced by ancient jewelry forms and timeless craftsmanship, his work reflects a “treasure” philosophy: each piece made to endure, to be lived in, and to be passed down.

We believe the materials used to create fine jewelry should carry both beauty and integrity.

California Gold

Our California Gold jewelry collection is made with gold we mine ourselves from river claims and fully permitted operations in Northern California. Unlike most gold used in global jewelry production, ours is highly traceable and we avoid using cyanide and mercury in our mining processes. We adhere to California’s strict environmental and labor standards, ensuring ethical practices and full land reclamation. Learn more →

Antique & Reclaimed Diamonds

Antique and reclaimed diamonds are already in circulation, making them a beautiful and sustainable option. The modern diamonds we work with come from Kimberley Process compliant suppliers who guarantee the stones are conflict-free.

Custom Jewelry Design

Every custom piece begins with a conversation. We work closely with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and the story behind it. From initial sketches to the finished jewelry, our process is hands-on, transparent, and collaborative, ensuring what we create is unique, durable, and exactly as intended.
